Kawasaki ZX10R Masters: one heart

Red Star Raceway welcomes the magnificent Kawasaki ZX10R Masters!

Space: the final frontier.
Trekkies all over the world have found this cemented statement to be of significant value; to the Kawasaki ZX10R Masters Club however, it bears no significance at all, as Red Star Raceway will be their next frontier. For the first time in a spectacular showdown, the men of THIS animated motorcycle outfit, will wage war on one of the most suitable motorcycle race circuits in the whole of South Africa.

Red Star Raceway, situated next to the N12 highway (towards Witbank/eMalahleni) lays in a picturesque flow of quiet countryside (until the superbikes start-up that is). This four kilometre race track boasts 13 turns and 5 straights, of which two are ultra-quick and long, giving scoot jockeys the chance to open up the throttle to the max.
Running parallel with the N12 highway, you get to appreciate the speed these scoot jockeys exert compared to the passing traffic. Although it might lure novice riders (first timers racing here) into believing it’s easy to negotiate, the opposite might bend their optimistic stance.

The Kawasaki ZX10R Masters Club is amped and ready to sport here for the first time as—ONE HEART. Although some of them have had previous encounters with Red Star—BOTTS, Formula Xtreme, Thunderbikes and the amazing 24 Hour race event—not all of them have turned full throttle here recently.

Front runner, Stewart MacLeod #46 (leading the pack in the points standing, with four wins), might find it hard to cope with the squiggly demands of Red Star Raceway, then again, his invaluable race career and experience will definitely not falter him.
On the flip side, Gavin Lightfoot #32, Pieter de Vos #17 and Brian Bontekoning #16, are well adapted to racing conditions out here, having raced Red Star both clock- and anti-clockwise. I would even stretch my words so far as to say, that Paul Jacobs #37 could dent their armour, possibly taking a top podium spot over this action filled race line-up. Dark horse, Tony Klem #13, might proof to be a worthy contender (after his off circuit injury a month or so earlier), toughening conditions for the rest of the contenders.
But until the chequered flag comes down and reveal the results we’ll have to be patient.

Spectators can also look forward to the Brunch Run, Thunderbikes, Honda NSF100 race series, as well as the 250cc Superkart Series, complementing the Masters Club —pure value for money!

As the days tick by at its usual pace, we come nearer and nearer to this momentous occasion on April 13—the Kawasaki Masters sporting as ONE HEART at the famous Red Star Raceway for the first time. If you would like to become part of this—ONE HEART—motorcycle race fraternity (are older than 35 and have a passion for racing), you can contact Johan Fourie (team captain and competitor) or drop RMB an email.
Until I see you there, stay true to yourself, and value the thump of your HEART! —Godspeed!
